Micro QR Code
Micro QR Code is a reduced-footprint variant of the Quick Response Code, defined for small payloads where surface area is constrained.
Form factor
Micro QR Code defines four versions, designated M1 through M4, with module counts of 11, 13, 15, and 17 modules per edge. The variant carries only one position-detection pattern (at the upper-left), in contrast to the three finder patterns of the standard symbology.
Capacity
Maximum payload capacity ranges from 5 numeric characters (M1) to 35 numeric characters or 21 alphanumeric characters (M4). Error-correction levels supported vary by version: M1 supports detection only; M4 supports L, M, and Q.
Application
Micro QR is used on substrates where a full Quick Response Code symbol would not fit at adequate module size — for example, on small electronic components, semiconductor wafers, and miniature consumer packaging.
