Scope
AIM BC11 published the Quick Response Code as part of AIM's Uniform Symbology Specification series. The publication preceded ISO codification and provided the first English-language normative reference for international implementers.
Relationship to ISO/IEC 18004
ISO/IEC 18004, first published in 2000, superseded AIM BC11 as the international normative reference. AIM BC11 retains historical importance as the document by which the Quick Response Code was first formally introduced to the global auto-ID industry.
